4 Tips to Planning a Cozumel Vacation
If you like scuba diving, snorkeling, or fishing, then Cozumel is the place for you. If you like hanging out on the beach, lying by a pool, and just chilling out, Cozumel is for you. I like all of these activities and thus I have made several trips to Cozumel. Being a frugal man, I also enjoyed the fact that it is a reasonable place to vacation. If you want to vacation in Cozumel, then here are four helpful hints.
1 Plan on getting a passport. Passports may or may not be necessary. However, getting one is a good idea. You don’t want to have a tripped planned and discover they changed the laws again and waiting for the last moment will cause you unnecessary frustration and possibly cause a cancelation of plans. Passports are good for about 10 years, so if you are thinking of vacationing abroad, anywhere outside the United States, go ahead and get your passport. You won’t regret it.
2 Book Activities with Airfare. Search the Internet for those special deals to Cozumel. You will find many of them and saving money means more fun for you when you go. Look for packages that include air, plane and activities. Since Cozumel is so close, you may want to visit the pyramids at Chitzen Itza.
3 Find the Off-Season. Do your homework on searching for those off-season times. You will have more fun due to fewer crowds and cheaper prices. One word of caution, the Yucatan Peninsula is very vulnerable to hurricanes and thus may disrupt your plans. Check out when the Hurricane season is and make sure you will be reimbursed if a hurricane disrupts your plans. Remember being stranded will ruin your vacation. Check it out before you book a trip.
4 Enquire about Accommodations – Hotel accommodations very vastly in Cozumel. Make sure you know where you are going to stay and what kind of facilities they have. Don’t assume anything. Check it out first. Most importantly, ask questions. You will get a good feel for your accommodations and won’t be surprised when you get there. If you are looking for all inclusive, find out what that means to them.
